Flipped Classrooms

One teaching style does not suit every student. Some students enjoy a flipped classroom, are visual learners, or are kinesthetic learners. Flipped classrooms are the most efficient and convenient way to learn. Flipped classrooms tend to match almost every student’s learning style. With a flipped classroom, students have the ability to work at their own pace, go over a concept as many times as necessary, and ask peers for help. Accordingly, a flipped classroom allows students to work on assignments when it is convenient. An example of a timeframe in a flipped classroom is that a teacher assigns four to five reading sections and two worksheets. The teacher gives the students two weeks to finish the material. Giving students their own time to work makes them feel more responsible. Students in flipped classroom have to make the decision to work on the material every day or work on the material the night before. Typically, teachers who participate in flipped classrooms provide answer sheets/examples to check work. Answer sheets allow students to make sure they are understanding the material before turning it in. Since everybody does have a different way of learning, and maybe a flipped classroom is not their way, they have the ability to ask a classmate to explain a concept to them. Sometimes students are better at connecting and explaining to classmates than a teacher is. Most flipped classrooms allow students class time on their own to work on the material, so students could form small groups to review concepts.
