ValuJet Flight 592 Crash The ValuJet Flight 592 plane was a regularly scheduled flight from the Miami International Airport to Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport. In the cockpit was pilots Kubeck Candalyn and Richard Hazen who had over 20,700 flight hours total between the too combined. On May 11, 1996, the McDonell-Douglas DC-9 operating the route crashed into the Everglades after shortly taking off from the airport. It crashed as a result of a fire in the cargo compartment caused by improperly stored cargo, killing all 110 people on board. The aircraft had suffered a number of incidents in the past two years prior to the crash, which included aborted takeoffs and emergency landings. On the afternoon of May 11, 1996 Flight …show more content…
They did an examination of the debris and it suggests that the fire burned through the floorboards of the cockpit, which then resulted in failure and damage to the cables underneath the instrument panels. However they also said it was likely that the crew had become incapacitated by the smoke and fumes. Power was lost to the cockpit voice recorder about fifty five seconds before impact, so it made it impossible to prove either scenario with an absolute certainty. Kubeck, Hazen, the three flight attendants, and all of the 105 passengers aboard the plane were killed almost instantly. The recovery of the victim’s body’s and the aircraft parts were extremely difficult because of the location of the crash. The closest road there was to the crash was more than a quarter mile away and the location was a deep water swamp with a floor of solid limestone. The plane was destroyed on impact with no big pieces remaining. Another part of the reason that recovery was so difficult was saw grass, alligators, and risk of bacterial infection made it difficult for searchers involved in the recovery. There was a group of fisherman nearby that witnessed the plane crash and reported that “The plane was flying in a steep right bank, after which it turned so that the nose was facing downward in a nearly vertical angle. It plummeted into the swamp followed by an explosion, then a shock wave, and finally a massive geyser of water.” They said they saw no visible outside damage to the plane or any sign of a fire or smoke other than the engine exhaust. There was also a group of sightseers in a small private plane that gave an almost exact identical eyewitness account, they said that the plane seemed like it disappeared after it made impact with the swamp and they couldn’t see anything but small scattered debris and part of the engine nearby of the plane crash

There were many factors that came into play that helped contribute to the crash of Flight 3407. For one, the flight was delayed for a period of over two hours. This can allow the pilots to receive external pressures as they will feel rushed since they do not want a cabin full of angry passengers. Both pilots also showed signs of fatigue throughout the flight. First Officer Shaw was known to have pulled an all-nighter as she commuted from Seattle to Memphis and then to Newark.…

So, they went back inside and sat there until they were called about 40 minutes later. By then, one of the towers had fallen and they knew that this was terrorism. When they got in the helicopter, my dad started putting in the address of where they were going. When he looked outside, he stopped putting in the address; they did not need it because they could see the thick, black smoke from the Pentagon. “There was not a cloud in the sky, not an airplane anywhere.”…

This lead people to believe that the intense heat of the fire had totally incinerated the entire plan. Although if the fire was surely hot enough to the point where the plane was completely unrecognizable how did investigators identify 184 out of 189 people who had been killed at the Pentagon? Even if the plane had completely vaporized, it would be the first time in history to ever happen. Flight 77 had two Rolls Royce RB211 jet engines made of steel and titanium, designed to maintain intact if anything was to go wrong. It is scientifically proven that it is impossible for the jet fuel to completely vaporize an entire plane therefor it should have been found intact at the crash site.…
