Air travel is nowhere near comfortable. A message from Dr. Florence Thomson written in response to an article published in The British Medical Journal in 1953 was, “most passengers are quite unable to rest in comfort in the position allowed, and sleep is quite impossible except in very short snatches” (996). In 2016, nothing changed for the better in this regard; CNN recently published an article about the disruptive passengers in flights and incidents of air rage in airplanes (McKirdy). What did change significantly is what comes before boarding the airplane. It has been 15 years since that horrifying day in September 2001.…

Self-identity is a form of individuality that has been molded by the surroundings people enclose themselves with. Human beings are constantly interpreting who they are. The human mind is a stream of thought that is constantly churning in motion, while the evolution of the conscious awareness is a lifetime process of interpreting the world around us. Sherman Alexie, a Spokane-Coeur d'Alene American novelist, exemplifies the conflict of self-identity in his novel Flight, where he seeks to reveal the value of his ancestry from several tribes and render the importance of the daily challenges Native Americans face from within their history. Sherman Alexie was born on October 7, 1966, in Spokane, Washington.…

The novel Flight by Sherman Alexie is quite an interesting story. It tells the tale of Zits, an Irish-Indian foster kid, and how he gains an identity for himself strangely enough by looking at life through another’s eyes and literally walking in someone else’s shoes. The development of the main character is definitely believable because in the beginning of the story he does have good qualities they are just buried under anger, sarcasm, numbness, and self loathing. The happy end to the book is satisfactory because of the great change that Zits went through during the different lifetimes. At the end of the novel, Zits reclaims his real name because he is no longer ashamed of who he is and wants to start fresh.…

Regardless, theories are put to the test and researched but no ludicrous theory that promotes the Bermuda Triangle is proving the realness to support it. However strange, the supposedly Devil’s Triangle is more than likely traveled with such carelessness that many factors such as its location, environment, unpredictable storms, and technology even come into play. The Bermuda Triangle does not have enough substantial evidence that would prove it exists and theories cannot explain the disappearing aircrafts and ships that have gone missing and never heard of or have fallen upon the very eyes of any human being since, however, the oblivious nature of this region could show our misunderstandings of our own boundaries ( Bermuda Triangle- Facts and…
