The organization I chose is called Flextronics. Flextronics is an electronic manufactory company that provides electronic board designs for computer, phones, and calculator. They have companies here in the US and internationally that provide supply chain solution and services. Their Corporate headquarters is in Singapore and the administrative support is in San Jose, CA. They build, test design and distribute electronic boards throughout over 40 countries and supplies them worldwide to customers. (Gara, n.d.) Employees of all generations and background should work together in coalition as a team of one. So, knowledge can be passed down and not lost. (Knight, 2014) The Millennials are glued to their devices, and this is their means of communication, which need to be combined with the baby Boomer ways, where we like face to face or telephone communication.
How does the organization motivate its employees? The pay is great and compliments their job better than most organizations, the employees can get stock options in the company if they chose to, they get quarterly bonuses, or they can choose to take it yearly, they are given a big Christmas and New Years Eve party, all promotions are made from within the company and a pay raise each year. They are the one who has to be on call 24/7 and most of the time they do not know anything about the electronic equipment that people have to work on. So, if it goes down and you are on call, you will have to learn on the job in order to fix the problem, which can take some time. So, training on all equipment can motivate an IT person, since he knows what it is he has to work on, they can quickly troubleshoot the problem and fix it, and get the work back on track.
