My family is big on showing affection so whenever the family get together for holidays or birthday, we had to literally hug and kiss every one, when we first get there and before we leave. It is also important to my parents for us to call both of our grandparents at least once a week. It just shows our grandparents that they are still important to us even though we do not see them as often. They really make sure that we do it since we are older and have busier lives. While growing up, we had a rule where we had to let our mom know they were are home after coming from our different activities. We could not go home and go straight to our rooms without greeting our mom first. It could either be a quick “hi mom” or it was a chance to tell her about your day.
