The causes of the global playing field being leveled is that more people are more connected to work with each other and compete for jobs. America is effected by people that are still behind on globalizing. American citizens need to start to change right away. Leaders need to make America's youth study harder and have more people work in the science and engineering fields. People are willing to compete for American jobs, but communities need to encourage each other work harder and strive to do better than others. It is all about who is better and smarter out in the new flat world today. The flatteners helps more people from different countries to be more connected and the flatteners help countries that did not have the ability and materials to work, have an opportunity to compete in this new playing field.
Globalization is the interaction between different countries and corporations (Globalization 101). Globalization effects everyone around the world. Workflow connected applications to applications so that people all over the world can work together (Friedman, 2005). People worked on computers more than ever before. The fourth flattener is outsourcing. Outsourcing is when software works seamlessly with all of the other technology, anything could be done (Friedman, 2005). Work could be brought to another place in the world and be done cheaper and better. The fifth flattener is offshoring. Offshoring allowed factories to be transferred to different countries. The sixth flattener is open-sourcing. Open-sourcing is the new technology options that arrive and let engineers collaborate with each other for free. A person can compete with anyone without having to move places. People around the world can see that there are more diverse jobs
