Cargo Film Analysis

Cargo : Cover Memo The text I chose to write about is the short film Cargo. This film had my eyes glued for 7 minutes. It was mind blowing and very touching in my opinion. The summary I have wrote answers a few questions including why the character did a few things he did in the film, and why he is motivated and dedicated to save his daughter. This paper includes a few strengths, I have included a large summary and response based on my sincere opinions and explanation on why these events happened in the film. A father who must protect his young daughter during a zombie apocalypse. The father is the first character to convey the message that he is yearning to save his daughter from the disaster. This is done by showing the lengths he is willing to go to save his baby. For example, after the father figured out he was bitten by his wife, he took drastic measures to fill a bag with flesh to distract himself from his daughter to keep her safe. This film most definitely made me reflect on what family does for one another. This piece does not only convey the message of sacrifice, but also gives the message on how one can take care for one another. This film reinforced my ideas about sacrifice. For a story to be so uplifting, and emotional, as this one is; there should be points in the story which should make you feel a certain way. Cargo most definitely wins the reward for that one. The reaction I got from this film gave me an unfortunate tone. Unfortunate, as it was upsetting about what was happening throughout the film. I was quite upset to find out that the father was bitten, especially because he was taking all the secure and drastic measure to save his daughter from the unfortunate events surrounding them. The reaction I got from the scene where the father was killed by the few survivors that were left, was quite shocking. Especially because at the time it was unsure on what happened to the daughter. It was quite unfortunate that an empathetic man like him had to go. For all of the things he was going through to save his daughter.
The father is fully determined to save the baby. He shows no signs of emotional weakness. His determination is demonstrated when he ties the flesh in the bag, or when he came across the abandon birthday party to find the balloon and blow it up for her. It was not required for him to go out
