As I expected, each compound that we had tested showed different colors or at least different shades of it sometimes. Due to the different colors there some compound that were very easy to identify. Barium and Potassium were very easy to identify. Barium was a very distinct shade of green. It is very noticeable and easy to identify, but potassium is equally easy to identify thanks to its violet color. On the other hand, there were also compounds that were hard to identify. These were Lithium and Strontium. Both these compounds are the color red. Though the shade of red is different if one were looking at it for the first time it could be easy to mistake one for the other. We also had to clean the splints we used. This is so that the compounds would not cross contaminate and ruin the results of our lab. There were differences between compounds such as compound 1 and compound 5 including their colors. However, they are also alike. They were both combined with Chloride. There were many variables and
