I think that a “fixed” mindset is more common among American college students opposed to a “growth” mindset. I believe that this “fixed” mindset is subconsciously learned and manifested during high school where students are constantly reminded and pressured about how important passing classes, getting good grades, and having a high gpa is for college, which is often alluded to success. Therefore, actually putting in effort, studying, and desiring to actually learn, students in high school take the easiest and fastest way out by doing such things as cheating and copying as long as it earns them that A that colleges seek. It is these habits and expectations that are to blame for the “fixed” mindset among college students.
