Apart from that, during my research, I found that there were several types of extreme narcissism. In his article titled, “5 Types of Extreme Narcissists (and How to Deal with Them)”, written for Psychology Today, Joseph Burgo, a clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst, delves into the five types of extreme narcissism which are vindictive, bullying, seductive, know-it-all, and grandiose. Vindictive narcissists will tend to tend to turn others against you and put themselves above you that way while bullying narcissists will belittle and talk you down. (Burgo, 2015). With seductive narcissists, they tend to flatter you in return for the same admiration and with a know-it-all narcissist, they believe that they know more than others, regardless of the topic (Burgo, 2015). It would seem like these some of these types of narcissism can have similar traits with the others.

I would see how this would be as the narcissists that I have lived with seemed to show a bit of traits from the other types. The mother, for example, was more of a vindictive narcissist but would have similar to traits to a grandiose narcissist, such as boasting about her accomplishments or about her family’s.
