But is it really okay, think about all of the bacteria getting on it. Does picking it up within five seconds really make a difference? Is it really as safe as we make it seem?

Or you can catch a serious bug like Salmonella or E. coli. The best thing to do would be just not to eat food off the ground in the first place. But of course people are going to do what they want.
