Empiric Knowing From a traditional standpoint, empiric implies an objective, non-theoretic observation, which implies that the meaning exists in what is observed apart from the interpretations of the observer (Chinn & Kramer, 2011, p. 154). Chinn & Kramer (2011) further describe empiric knowledge as that which is developed from controlled experimental studies as well as naturalistic methods that rely on interacting with and understanding the nature of experience as it is perceived (p. 154).
