Prayer and meditation are prominent actions by followers of any religion. Religious prayer is a time set aside to speak or to lift up requests to their god/gods. Some religions require more prayer than others. As I looked through different religions beliefs of prayer there was none more serious than Islamic traditions. Their devotion to prayer is one trait that stands out amongst other well known religions, even Christianity. To be a Muslim, they have a list of five acts to preform which are called “The Five Pillars of Islam.” Some of these actions are done only one time for example, “Declaration of faith,” and “pilgrimage to Makka” also known as Haji. The other three requirements are done either daily, monthly, or a set period of time during the year. Sawn, which is the fast that takes place during Ramadan, happens once a year for a month, which is also known as the holy month of Ramadan. The other is your tradition giving of the alms or offering given once a year as a tax. First, Christians can plan out five even spaced times a day to get a way from whatever they are doing and going into prayer. Second, Christians can make a point to pray everyday regardless feeling a need to or not. It is important that Christians to be devoted to God even when things are going well. While praying during the good times, will make it easier to go to God during the bad times. This will remove this notion that prayer is only when we are sick, or something is going wrong. The third major thing way Christians can incorporate this trait is by understanding that prayer is communication not a one sided sermon. Christians should begin to regularly seek God’s wisdom in scripture and respond to his word in prayer, which will keep God’s word in the forefront of your mind while battle against the
