As discussed in class, there are five controversial predictors when it comes to employment testing. Those five predictors are drug testing, polygraphs, integrity tests, graphologies, and genetic screening. Each of the predictors has their own set of controversies, but integrity testing is the predictor that caught my attention. Integrity tests are predictors that assess personality traits in future employees, such as honesty, trustworthiness, and dependability. If the individual is found to have low integrity, it can predict certain counterproductive behaviors. These behaviors include theft, violence, sabotage, discipline problems, and absenteeism.
