This Paper is about a man named Jay Gatsby who people saw as a rich man who only cared for himself. Throughout the paper you will come to realize that Jay Gatsby was a good man, who was just a bit misunderstood. Some people believe that Jay Gatsby was a man who cared for nothing but himself. People assumed that he was just another man who inherited his wealth through family riches. Seeing that he threw the wild and lavish parties whom pretty much everyone in the city attended uninvited. Those people were wrong.

However, Gatsby cared for only one thing, Daisy Buchanan. Everything he did was to win her over. Gatsby went off to war and had to leave Daisy. However, when he can back and found her married to Tom Buchanan, he thought that by getting rich he’d be able to win her over.
In the beginning of the book the narrator tells us that Gatsby lives across the bay from Tom and Daisy Buchanan, and that he bought the house in west egg to be close to Daisy Buchanan. This detail is significant because it is an example of how much Jay gatsby loves Daisy Buchanan.
