Fitness Workout Log

Sorry for the lack of posts recently- I had my wisdom teeth taken out and it took a huge toll on me! I was extremely sensitive to the pain medication so I slept about 20 out of the 24 hours in a day… I’m still recovering and have stitches in my mouth that will be taken out in the near future. But until then, I’ll be living off of soup and mashed sweet potatoes! (LOL)

Anyways, I can’t believe it is already November! This year has flown by. Next thing you know, it will be 2014 and that start of a new year! *crazy*

For the month of November, I am deciding to reach a lot of goals. Both personally and physically.

Fitness Goals:

Walk/Run three miles, three times a week
Yoga every morning and night
Participate in morning gym classes such as Pilates
…show more content…
That way I can still travel but also get and education)
Stay extremely dedicated to my fitness blog/instagram
Start a YouTube channel
STAYING POSITIVE
Reading every night before bed for 30 minutes
Now, you may be thinking “Well, these seem pretty easy and reasonable! But, where is the challenge?” Yes, these goals do seem at reach and completely dependent on myself but, I am focusing on improving myself not just getting goals done just to say I did it. My ankle has been swelling up so I am going to be taking it easy with exercising on it but that doesn’t mean I am going to completely give up on fitness!

I love what I do and what I am going to achieve in life! Every day is a journey, not always easy, but every day is a new beginning and a new chance to chase after everything you believe in.

What are your November goals? Leave them down below! Stay tuned for a blog post every day this week!!

In addition, I will try to be on a structured diet in order to get on shape. EXERCISE BARRIERS Time and travel are my two main exercise barriers. If only one can buy time, as they say Tuesdays and Thursdays are really rough due to class session that ends at 10, which gives me around 5 hours to workout and stick to my diet. It might be challenging but I feel I am very dedicated and able to sacrifice other parts of my daily life to reach my goal.…

The person I picked to discuss these goals with my friend Brady Shorey, he has been my inspiration in school and has become someone who I really look up to. The main reason I look up to Brady is because he has created a life out of nothing, he has worked incredibly hard for everything he has; leading to him becoming a successful lawyer, Brady had goals and dreams and through his hard work he transformed dreams and aspirations into reality. His general response to my goals was positive, the one suggestion he offered was to start now rather than waiting. He explained this suggestion by stating, “the longer you wait, the easier it’s going to become to put these goals off and forget about them.” He also encouraged me to really push myself, not settling with a lower bar, but really pushing yourself by setting high expectations for yourself.…

There were no true barriers to this goal, only my own lack of motivation and dislike of the grocery store. I wish I had put more thought into this goal, planned out meals and learned how best to continue this goal outside of the two weeks. But that will be my new goal, learning how eating healthy should look for me. Finding out if that is frozen vegetables throughout the week or going to the grocery more frequently for small amounts of fresh foods. These past two weeks of taking a step toward a healthy life have shown me that food matters.…

There is no doubt that goals are the key to success. This is a concept that my parents have heavily stressed while growing up, which is why setting goals is my source of motivation. I am constantly creating a set of daily objectives that I push to complete, knowing that they will all one day lead me to my ultimate purpose, a career in the dental field. For this reason, a current goal that I hope to achieve within the next 10 months is to visit many local clinics and job-shadow their hygienists. Why not just job-shadow one hygienist at one clinic?…

Discuss fitness tests or methods of evaluation that should be used to assess the client, providing rationale for your recommendations. Be sure to address the specific conditions presented by your client. It will be important to consider that his body is still going through puberty when designing a program for him. This offers a great opportunity to encourage him though, as this is when he can set up what the status quo will be for his adult life regarding his physical fitness and overall health. CARDIO Swimming test, if available, would be preferable.…

    Fitness Goal Setting

Fitness and Goal Setting Knowledge Fitness and goal setting have been the main topic of conversation in this class. Whether we need to work on legs or arms today, or what we are going to do in the future. I learned that it is better to do quantity over quality when it comes to fitness workouts, and that it is always important to stretch and warm up your muscles before a workout to ensure you do not strain any muscles. For goal setting, I learned that if you pick a specific goal that you wish to achieve, like say to reach +10 in the fitness flexibility test, you can keep working towards that goal step by step, or in this case number by number, to reach your goals efficiently. When reaching towards a goal, you cannot just make it in one try…

In simulation this week, I was effective in remembering the majority of the steps for the head to toe (I always seem to forget orientation and capillary refill). I quickly realized at the end if I had left out any steps and by the end of simulation I felt much more confident in completing a head to toe exam.
