The purpose of fitness testing in a highschool setting is to allow you to gauge your current level of fitness and assess what you need to get better at and plan out a course of action to approaching these goals. An example of this could be that all of your scores for the different exercises are high except for the 500 meter row. This could mean that your weakness is cardiovascular endurance and that this is the area you need to work on. You now know what you need to get better at and can create a fitness plan based around this. An example of this plan could be to try and run at least a mile every day increasing …show more content…
It is still between 101 and 105 pounds. There is this range because throughout the day one’s weight can vary based on the amount of food they have eaten and other such factors. The cause of these results is probably because of the little work I have put in to change my weight and size. My height has not changed since the beginning of the year so I did not gain any weight from any such changes. Also I am vegetarian and because of this do not eat as much protein rich and fattening foods. Apart from this on average each day I will walk around for about 3 miles. So my calorie intake is relatively low and I have relatively low physical activity meaning that there is no reason for my weight to go up from increased calorie intake or to go down from increased physical activity. Also I have not made any efforts to build any muscle which could have increased my weight. Essentially nothing about how I am physically has changed or happened that could lead to a major weight change. This meets my expectations fairly well because I did not expect for much change throughout the year and expected to still be in my weight percentile. I would have expected to have grown a little taller and gained weight in that sense, but otherwise I generally met my expectations. This also relates decently with my fitness goals as my only real goals for the year were to increase my cardiovascular endurance and stamina which would not …show more content…
This became worse the next marking period rising to a 2.63 minute time, but then after that became better. So overall in the end I had my best time of 2.43 minutes to finish. Although I did worsen originally overall I did improve my score. However this score was still well over the goal of under two minutes. The reason for this growth was probably from better technique over time. Near the beginning I had smaller shorter strides and would not bring the bar all the way to my chest but as the year went on I learned the proper technique and use of the rowers. In the final test during the fourth marking period I had much better technique overall. In order to improve my time in the 500 meter row I need to maximize my cardiovascular endurance. In order to do this I can simply start running more often. During the summer I can start running in the morning when there is low traffic and the weather is nice. I can also try to walk around more. Trying to do usual runs of at least 3 miles would be beneficial to increasing my cardiovascular endurance and increasing the strength of my legs. I could also do simple cardio exercises in my home such as burpees and mountain climbers. Next is sit-n-reach where every marking period I had a distance of 0 except the 2nd marking period. This temporary improvement was probably because during that time period I had begun doing a large amount of yoga and in result probably grew a little
