Each play a major role when playing a sport but also when participating in physical education class. The first component is agility which is the ability to quickly change direction or body position accurately while moving through space. Incorporating this in a gym class would be a little harder than health-related fitness components but still conceivable. A game you can create is called Stop light, where you have the students line up at wall, and one person be the name caller (most likely the teacher). The name caller would yell green light which indicates to the students that they are allowed to run towards the name caller as he stands on the opposite side of the gym. When the name caller yells yellow light they must change direction back to the wall and then resuming to try and reach the name caller. If the name caller calls red light, then they must stop as soon as they can and change directions back to the wall and wait to the name caller calls green light. The second Component is speed which is the ability to perform a movement in the shortest possible times. The stop light game would work for speed as well as agility. The third component is power which is the product of strength and speed. This component would be very tricky to use in an elementary P.E. class but easier with high school educators.
