“It was somewhat scary; transitioning to a big school all of a sudden [kind of] scared me,” freshman Kristin Lau said, “The teachers and faculty members were very nice, though.”
As the grade level increased, students had expectations of how the new school year was going to feel like.

“There were countless amounts of parents taking the extra flight of stairs next to Mrs. Logan’s room on accident and their confusion was quite humorous.” she said.
As for Lau, the entire week at a new campus was unforgettable. “Getting to know the teachers more and basically the entire week was very memorable.”
The HBA school handbook added some revisions and new policies. Students are finally able to use their cellphones during break and lunch and a ban has been in effect for undercut and ombré hair. Teachers and students had their own opinions on these new rules.
“I used to use my phone all the time during lunch and sometimes at break, so it really didn’t have much effect on me.” Yamamoto responded.
“I’m glad we changed the handbook rules. It gives the students more freedom and choice to do what they want during their free time.” Le added.
“The only change in the handbook I remember is the fact that we can now use our cellphones during school hours. I really liked this change in policy because I can stay in contact with my family and friends throughout the day.” Vergara …show more content…
If we already get sidetracked on our iPads because of the games and downloading banned apps, I don’t think getting to use our cellphones would ease the situation. It only made matter worse.”
“I honestly don’t mind the ombre hair policy because I think that students should have the freedom of being able to do such a small thing to their hair. The cell phone policy is alright if no one violates it by not listening in class, but I definitely prefer the face-to-face interaction with their friends.” Taylor said.
Duncklee added, “I actually don’t like the new handbook policy because I wish that students would have more face-to-face interactions with one another, but I don’t have an opinion about the hairstyle rules.”
As the year flies by, students and teachers have been looking towards their future trips, sports, and school activities. Goals have been made for the better, and each of them are working hard to achieve it.
“I am looking forward to the England Trip this October, but I must begin to grade papers faster.” Duncklee said.
