Put First Things First and Think Win-Win
Covey’s habit 3 and 4 are First Things First which is about the practice of priorities in time management in a private victory and habit 4 is Think Win-Win which is about a public victory balancing courage and empathic in relationships. Habit 3 reminds me of putting God first. He is my center and sound principle. Habit 4 is reaching out to my neighbor that is a win-win. I am reminded to love my neighbor as myself. In addition win-win is a excellent way of thinking about my neighbor first.
Put First Things First

I want Jesus to be glorified in the Urgent, so I will walk toward the Urgent and the hurting and the people who are poor, poor in life and poor in Spirit. I will walk toward the pain of another’s life as they struggle with cancer, losing their home, hungry and without hope. I will be present to those whom I see around me that are in a struggle of Urgency. This is a priority for me because this is a priority for Jesus. The life of Jesus is filled with urgencies with people desiring to be healed, the poor wanting to feed, the downcast and without hope. Also, when I look at Quadrant II, I am reminded that interruptions that seem trivial may be the opportunity to love someone by listening. Just because it is trivial to me does not mean that through the leading of the Spirit that I cannot stop and listen. Jesus attended to pressing matters of others, by looking beyond the pressing matter into the Spirit of the one …show more content…
Pleasant activities are ways that we are invited to take joy in ourselves and the way God created us. Trivia, busy work is always welcomed when we are spending time with friends. All of these places are places where God will and does invite into, not one quadrant is worth more than another. Listening to the Spirit of God invites each of into these worthy places for His purpose. I worked through Covey’s planner and I wrote out my schedule. Although, if something urgent came up, I would drop everything to go and meet a friend who is in trouble and I would pray with them and sit with them. I would not try and fix it, nor would I follow through with the

After I read the 7 habits book, I started to know that I don’t actually have an appropriate balance among the various aspects of my life (family, friends, work, and so forth). I started to know this as I read the RBA (relationship bank account) pages. I came to know that about me because in the RBA section, RBA deposits and RBA withdrawals, I read the RBA deposits and I didn’t fit into all of them, but as I read the RBA withdrawals I came to know that I fitted into almost everything like Break promises, Talk too much, and Keep to yourself. I always do these kind of stuff to my friends, peers, and my best friends which makes it harder to keep up with my relationships. In the habit 4 worksheet, I had a lot of situations that relates to win- lose and lose- win attitude which I could have easily changed to a win- win situation, but I didn’t…

To quote my grandmother, “the easy road is not always the right one.” No matter how easy it may be to push my beliefs to the side and just accept whatever job may come my way, the journey back from compromise is far harder than anyone would like to imagine. In her article “Your Calling,” Andree Seu commented “You had better think twice about saying to yourself: “I need to suck it up in order to be light and salt in this (town). What kind of light and salt can you be now? You have just taught them that you are willing to compromise your convictions.”…

I really like the image called "Those Who Love Me Will Keep My Word". In this image it shows two people who are obviously starving and the one on top is holding the other and feeding him something from a bowl. I interpret the image as Jesus (on top) giving his strength and hope to someone else (on the bottom). I chose this representation of Jesus because Jesus is the definition of strength and grace, he will help anyone before himself. When Jesus was on earth he helped anyone who needed it; the blind, poor, and those who were weak.…

True and significant life is found in Jesus Christ and because of my firm conviction of this it has been my primary objective to point people to Jesus. Being persuaded that Christ wants Christians and especially those who take leadership roles to minister to the needs of others, I have ordered my life to conform to that conviction. Ultimately, Jesus desires that each Christian serves him by serving others; this is accomplished in a variety of ways – feeding those who are hungry, teaching everyone the life saving Gospel, and by leading in a way that reflects the glory of Christ. It has been my immense pleasure to have had the opportunity to preach God’s Word to thousands of people over the past fifteen years. It is my sincere passion to see people embrace Christ Jesus as their Lord and savior and to be transformed by the renewing of their minds through the Word of God.…

The upper room discourse plays a significant role in defining love in the Gospel. Moloney notes that Jesus acts love out through washing the feet of the disciples (13:1–38), discusses it with his disciples (15:12–17), and prays for it (17:1–26). This provides context and definition for Jesus’s death as an act of…

Next, the 4th habit is think win-win. You should search for the best alternative so everyone can benefit and be happy. If you lose do not think lose-lose and bring someone down with you. You also never want to have a win-lose attitude where you win and someone else suffers. Never think lose-win either, do not take the losses so other people can be happy.…

Paul’s inaugural address in Philippians 1:3-11 gives thanks to God and expresses joy for the effectual, transformative work of Christ that courses through lives of the Philippians believers, which has caused them to be partners “in the gospel from the first day until now” (v.5). Yet, Paul does not conclude his salutation with thanksgiving and rejoicing. Rather, Paul sees the gospel work through an eschatological lens evidenced through his assurance in that “he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ” (v. 6). Therefore, concludes his greeting with a prayer that their love would “abound more and more” so that they would be “pure and blameless in the day of Christ […] to the glory and praise of God” (v. 9-11).…

I have a habit of wasting time watching videos when homework is supposed to be my priority. It happens when I’m home by myself, and I get bored. When I’m bored, I tend to think about what kind of food there is in the kitchen, and then I find myself in there looking for something to eat. When I find something to cook, I bring my laptop or iPad so I can listen to music while I make my food. Then I eat and watch videos.…
