The Story of the First Sound Cartoon "Whenever I arrive home I always look at a cartoon mouse sitting upon my fireplace. A figure I have created to bring joy and happiness to many people and reminds me of my life's accomplishments," I told the students of the Osage Elementary School. "Would you all like to hear the story behind my cartoons," I asked. "Yes we would," all the students exclaimed at once. "This brings me back to the days when I was only a child of the age of nine. My dad brought me to an amusement park down the shore, and I was amazed at all the rides from the biggest roller coaster whooshing by to the smell of cotton candy trailing in the air," I recall. Drawing Cartoons. I created all sorts of cartoons after a long time it was just an everyday thing for me," I reminisced. "Soon I came up with the idea to make a character that I could display to the public and make a smile appear on the face of each person who watches it," I said aloud. "I started to draw day and night, and I finally came up with a special character no one ever came up with," I commenced to say. What did you do then," a young girl exclaimed frightened because of what I said and waiting for my answer. "Don't worry I didn't just sit there and do nothing. No I got up and kept going I started to draw and draw until I came up with Mortimer. But, my wife didn't like what I called it so I renamed it Mickey Mouse," I reassured everyone. "So after Mickey Mouse I came up with Steamboat Willie the first synchronized- music cartoon in 1928. The whole world was amazed at this that people would go see movies time after time just to see my cartoon. I didn't really do it for the money though I did it to bring joy to every person watching," I continued. "This was one of the best achievement of my life," I added. "Ring, ring, ring," the school bell rung. "Alright everyone go get your bags and go seat back down. And, what do you say to Mr. Disney," the teacher exclaimed. "Thank you," everyone said at
