The moon barely lit the muddy pathway ahead. Twisted twigs and fallen branches caught my ankle and I could feel them crunch underneath my worn out sandals-making it hard to walk. There was no sensible movement for miles on the abandoned ally, it was completely vacant, except for one ancient house on the far corner of the road. The boards creaked and moaned and threatened to collapse at any given moment. My heart skipped a beat, and the inside of my stomach churned into an unpleasant knot. I realized that the moans were not from the boards, rather they came from inside of the house. And that it was not something making the noise, rather someone. Intrigued, I tried to hold myself back, but my curiosity got the best of me. The house

An unlucky soul had his curiosity get the best of him, and immaturely walked into the one ancient house on the street. The wind was strong, and Alan was concerned that it was at its peak of collapsing. He heard moaning from the bottom level, so he proceeded. Little did he know that there was a zombie reaping day party going on there, and he was going to be the main course. He found a dead man, not knowing that it was just a zombie taking a nap...now he was awake...and hungry. Along with the other zombies, they all trapped their pray that just remained shivering, eyes glued shut and frightened. He let out a piercing shriek, which did startle them, but they were used to it. He hoped that they would go away, but they creeped closer, and closer...they were hungry.

The zombie lord was angered by the fact that this immature boy had disturbed their party. “How dare you make such a terrible sin-you must pay for this” “You have ruined the reaping party, and you must pay the price” he exclaimed. He smiled evilly and said “You will be our main course now”. The young lad was feisty, and let out quite a loud shriek that was startled some zombies- but it was nothing compared to the fierceness of their hunger. “You are the plump, and juicy kind-maybe you won’t be such a downside to the party” “Let the reaping

The trees were clearing, the day was sunny now, our jackets were heavy and sweaty and we wore them tied at our hips. The ground was soft but not mud, purple and yellow and orange flowers bloomed on the sides of the path, birds chirped, why the were we not at the moontower? Eventually we were spit out of the dirt path to a wide open dirt parking lot. Nothing was parked there, but a trail led to a tunnel through a rock. We walked along.…

Though, close in distance, Sailor Rock was much harder for Greg to get to from the north side, rather than the dirt road they had always used from the west. Limping uphill on one leg with a crutch and maneuvering through rocky and uneven ground, was difficult enough, until he had to pick his way through the prickly bushes and small trees where the ground leveled near its base. Since he couldn’t go very far without elevating his leg, it took him two full days to finally get there. The wild plums and berries he found along the way kept him from starving, but it didn’t give him enough energy to climb to the top and for his body to heal. What happened to the well-worn trail that opened up to the clearing at the base of Sailor Rock?…

Rotting, undead creatures walking the earth with only one primal thought and purpose, to eat and kill the living—this is a typical depiction of zombies and their behavior. My most valuable possession was my house. It wasn’t anything fancy or exquisite, but it was there that I had spent the precious moments, however few, with my beloved dad. I remember that we would spend hours playing, running around the arched, brightly lit corridors. On either side, I recall the large mahogany doors which would fluidly open to reveal ancient, chestnut-brown rooms with antique, twin bed frames which were confined within. I will never forget the uncanny gargoyles that were suspended onto the wall behind, the very same monsters who would assault my sleep and curse me with countless numbers of sleepless nights.…
