I chose to make excuses for him and rationalize why the second scenario was an isolated incident and should not alter my initial impression of him. Even after rereading the …show more content…

Just like your perception of a situation would be different from someone else’s if you had achieved the goal of safety but they had not. Your perception of your job will be very different from a colleague’s if Herzberg’s Hygiene Factors or Motivators are met for them but not for you. Which theory we associate with the most in McGregor’s Theory X and Theory Y is also based on our personal perceptions. Do you identify most with Theory X because you believe the majority of people are lazy, lack ambition, and respond best to punishment? Or do you identify most with Theory Y because you believe the majority of people are committed, have potential, and just need someone to focus and develop that potential? Whichever one you identify with is a result of your personal experiences and affects the type of leader you will

When leading a team in the future as a leader or manager, I would use the McGregor Theory Y(McGregor, 1960), where I view my team as the most important people, allowing dynamic and flexibility in management. Frankenstein Reflective Journal After reading the novel Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley, I can certainly see that the character Victor Frankenstein himself is isolated and lonely. This is illustrated through each chapter in even more depth as you read deeper into the novel. Victor doesn't epitomize the stereotypical man, pertaining to his level of sensitivity. For a man to be a man, they must act like one, and as cliché as it is, I have concluded that Victor defies this presumption by acting this way and expressing natural emotion more evidently.
