Maybe to keep the guards out of Macbeths way of killing the late King. While everyone was gathered grieving the late King, Macbeth out of nowhere comes from somewhere breathing as if he was running. When asked what’s has happened to the guards he responded “Oh, yet I do repent me of my fury, That I did kill them.” (2.3.101-108) The way he sounded made him seem like he killed them because everyone was thinking the guards murdered Duncan. Macbeth is smart but not too smart. With the murder of the guards Macbeth will be charged with 2 counts of second degree murder. This is charged with up to 15 years in prison and up to $12,500 in

As one might describe, a dictator is a leader with total power over a nation. This power is typically obtained by force. Many dictators rule in fear and inflict terror upon people in the nation in which they govern. Within a dictatorship, one’s entitlement to speak freely is most commonly revoked because basic rights and freedom are not available. Two dictators that suppressed freedom of speech under their governing nations are Macbeth, a character from the play “Macbeth” by William Shakespeare, and Saddam Hussein, the former President of Iraq.…

Additionally, he recognizes that he is setting a bad example for others, by committing a “double” betrayal against Duncan, since Macbeth is both his subject, and his host for the night. Next, Macbeth reflects that since Duncan was a good and fair king, his “virtues / Will plead like angels, trumpet-tongu’d against / The deep damnation of his taking-off.” (Shakespeare 1.7.17-20) In other words, murdering Duncan is a clearly dishonourable act, and if Macbeth were to be discovered, he would suffer in terms of his reputation as well. In fact, when Macbeth contemplates his own motive to commit the murder, he finds only “Vaulting ambition which o’erleaps itself / And falls on th’other--.” (Shakespeare 1.7.26-28) In this passage, Macbeth acknowledges that he is taking a bigger bite than he can chew, and that the consequences are not worth fulfilling his ambition.…

In William Shakespeare’s play, Macbeth, the titular character willingly commits murder as his desire for kingship outweighs his immoral regret for murder, despite his initial hesitance in the beginning of the play. Macbeth’s doubts about killing King Duncan in Act I exemplify his early resistance: “This even-handed justice / Commends th’ ingredience of our poisoned chalice / To our own lips. [...] Besides, this Duncan / Hath borne his faculties so meek, hath been / So clear in his great office” (1.7.10-12, 16-18). Macbeth fears punishment caused by “even-handed justice,” resulting in hesitance to carry out the act of murder. Additionally, Duncan’s righteousness contributes to Macbeth’s qualms about killing such a virtuous man; nevertheless,…

Sharing his plan with Lady Macbeth, the would-be queen, shows he hoped “it would find welcome lodgement with her,” and she would encourage his greed for more power (Flathe 2). Realizing it is against his morals, Macbeth tries to back out of the murder plan but he is “charged with cowardice” by Lady Macbeth (Richardson 1). She scolds him for being too frightened to achieve his goal to become king and not being “the same in thine own act and valor as thou art in desire” (1.7.40-41). This accusation spurs his ambition and his greed, so he murders Duncan, knowing the prophecies are on his side. By committing this crime, Macbeth destroys a bond with a parent-like figure and violates the “powers of [his] own superego, or conscience” (Reid 5).…

Due to the laws and regulations in Virginia he wouldn't be able to walk free but he would be placed in a mental hospital. Macbeth is a king, everyone knows him so it would also be hard to find a jury that wouldn't take sides. Lord of Macbeth Even though both Jack from Lord of the Flies, and Macbeth from Macbeth have the same drive for power, the same obsession with blood, and the same guilt, there are some differences. The differences between them is that Macbeth does everything because he thinks it’s his fate and that he needs to, but Jack does it for the thrill of it. In both Macbeth, and Lord of the Flies the author is trying to show that greed kills all. In both novels the drive to be the leader results in either the death of himself, or the death of others. Both Macbeth and Jack could have lead peacefully, but their fear of not having power led to their eventual downfall.…

He is prosecuted for four charges: first degree murder of King Duncan and Banquo, second degree murder for the two servants, first degree murder of Lady Macduff and her children, and treason against the country. As a juror, my verdict for Macbeth’s charges of murdering King Duncan, Banquo, Lady Macduff and her children is not guilty.
