First Day Reflection

Improved Essays
Today, I began my first day in the insurance/billing office observing two ladies call insurance companies and different patients to check their insurance benefits. First, I started off helping them file some invoices, consent forms, and verify benefits for certain procedures. Also, I got to go through old patient files to check for the patients that did or didn’t have a procedure done. After lunch, I started putting together patient information packets and prenatal care packets. Overall, I think today was a slow day for the office because a provider is out sick, one employee ended up getting fired, and two LPNs are sick. So, I have been told that I will be needed this week to help out in other areas of the office besides the billing/insurance …show more content…
Towards the end of the day, I got to observe the step-by-step process of how they prepare their office’s bank deposit, then I went to help shut down exam rooms. Besides having Hispanic day on Wednesdays where the interpreter is in the office, a breast feeding class is offered by the practice, which I think is a wonderful benefit to mothers wishing to feel their babies in a natural way! Anyhow, I don’t have much more to share about my day today because of the office being a little more on the slow side, but tomorrow and Wednesday should be more interesting.

Today, in the insurance/billing office, I got to listen in a couple calls to patients. Also, I got to call a patient to schedule a follow-up postpartum appointment! Fortunately, the call went much smoother than I thought it would! As I was about to end the call, the patient agreed to an appointment time and let me know she was thankful to me for calling. Another thing I got to do was put together PHI packets for established yearly patients to fill out when they come in. After lunch, I got to see several insurance claims be filed, which were paid all but one. I noticed from one office

My day started a bit off, I had an emergency that morning that made me run a bit late for clinical. This made me miss some important information such as, how nurses in NCBH hand over to the next shift, but aside that, I had a wonderful day working with nurse Mrs. Osei. She welcomes me by introducing herself, which I responded likewise. She took me with her to do her morning rounds and administer medication to her assigned patient. After we were done with her morning medication, I went to one of her patient whom I was assign to by Mrs. Natasha to perform mini mental survey and general assessment on the patients.…

    A. This week for the reporting period I didn’t have the opportunity to observe much because of the short week I had in the agency. However, I did get the chance to direct calls from clients to social workers. I also participated in going shopping with one of the social worker aide’s for foster children. There was also an independent living meeting that took place in our office this week but I didn’t get a chance to sit in on it. Lastly I attended court with my supervisor because she had to testify for a custody battle.…

You made such good points justifying the module prompt. I had explored it and cultivated valuable information. It is true as you expressed that individuals are subjective to the environmental inheritance, we learn from what were left for us to observe, use, question, perceive, research, etc… then acquire cognitive abilities to proceed to other cognizance levels. Plato believed on forms as part of individuals’ life. According to him, form is what makes our perception real, and we live with it; therefore, everything in individuals’ living environment is shaped at certain fashion reflecting forms.…

I was excited and very nervous as I knocked on the front door. Would I meet the supervisor’s expectations, was I ready to handle the varied medical issues of the clients? Although the supervisor wasn’t there I was welcomed and introduced to the staff and felt somewhat reassured. Discouraged, I spoke to someone I trusted for advice on the situation.…

ASU150 has taught me that the past has no power over the present moment. The most important concepts I absorbed this semester include the power and importance of ones growth mindset, ones approach to S.T.E.P, and the significance of a balanced life. Easily one of my favorite quotes from Gina this year has to be “Do not hold onto thoughts that do not allow your mind to move forward.” I feel this quote is essential to the class because so much of our lives are created in what we think at this very moment.…

It was a typical busy Tuesday in the Operating Room the morning of November 26th; I remember walking in hoping I had good cases and was assigned to a room. Being part of the Open Heart team meant that if no open heart surgeries were scheduled, you would end up being a float for other services. Many of the nurses preferred not to float because they weren’t always comfortable giving breaks to both surgical techs and circulators, but I didn’t mind scrubbing or circulating different services. I reviewed the scheduled on my way into the locker room before report, I was scheduled to be a float that day. I went into the lounge for morning report and greeted everyone as I always did.…
