First Day Of Middle School Essay

The first day of seventh grade is something that’s almost impossible to describe with words. This was actually the first day of Middle School for me, which can prove to be very hard. Actually, the first week of seventh grade was just like the first day, because I didn’t find it so easy to adapt to my new school. On the cool, foggy morning of September 3rd, I woke up at six in the morning, which felt very unusual, considering the fact that I never wake up this early. Not even a second after I woke up, my teeth started chattering. I couldn’t understand if I was feeling cold, nervous, or scared for the day to come. It was maybe even all of them. There was just a bit of excitement in me for this day, but not much at all. Obviously, I wanted …show more content…

She kept on telling me to turn it to the left or to the right, but was I supposed to turn my hand that way, or were the numbers on the locker supposed to go in the direction I was told. Finding my period two class was not hard at all. All I had to do was go straight and look for Room 104, which was right near my Health class. Language Arts went through like a breeze. We went through guidelines, expectations, and classroom rules, and before I knew it I was off to Social Studies.
As expected, I got lost on the way from Language Arts to Social Studies (Period 3). Since my language arts classroom and social studies classroom were about a hundred classes apart, I had no idea of where I should go. Luckily, I decided to go upstairs, because that made to most sense to me. After climbing the stairs, I found myself in front of Room 202. Freshman Composition I’s course objective was designed to help students “focus on developing and expressing ideas clearly and effectively to communicate with various audiences for various purposes and occasions, through written, oral, aural, and visual venues by means of individual and team projects.” Throughout this course my classmates and I reviewed principles of the writing process, including: planning, logical organizational, development strategies, revision, and editing, we were also introduced to rhetorical techniques and vigorous library research. With those techniques, this course has helped my classmates and I develop critical thinking skills like: summary, paraphrase, analysis, evaluation, and synthesis of multiple sources. Before I began this class my writing process consisted of simply being assigned as assignment by my high school english teachers and coming up with an essay at the top of my head that properly fit the space requirement and prompt that I would then turn in the day it was due.…

As a first time student attending Spokane Falls Community College, I honestly thought that the only buildings and areas of campus involving my class schedule would be of importance. Little did I know that one room I would encounter would become my safe haven. I remember the first day stepping out onto campus and all I saw was a giant riddle waiting to be solved so many parking spaces, buildings, rooms, classes, and students. The anticipation bubbling up inside of me was exciting and rooted with a little nervousness. I was searching for place to keep me focused on my goal of being a successful student, a place to refresh between rigorous lectures.…

Hall-Dale Middle School vs. Hall-Dale High School The transition from middle school to high school can be extremely difficult for some, as there are many differences between the two. “The switch to high school can be disastrous if a child doesn 't make the transition smoothly -- more kids fail ninth grade than any other grade.” There are similarities, but the differences outnumber the similarities greatly. I woke with a start at the obnoxious noise coming from my alarm. It was 9:00 a.m. on a Thursday, in the middle of the summer. Today, I was going to my favorite place in the world: the Tulsa State Fair. I dragged myself down the creaking stairs and into the family room, where I turned on the television. I then ate a bowl of cocoa puffs and went back upstairs to prepare myself for the day.…

Transitioning from middle school to high school is scary enough, not to mention finding out that your best friends won’t be attending that same school adds a little pressure on a pre-teen who, for the most part is really shy. When I first started high school I had a cousin who was a year older than me, she showed me around school and I ended up hanging out with her and her friends for a few months. Then she introduced me to some of her newer friends who were in the same grade as me. They were nice people and they got me through the first year of high school, but I never felt like I belonged to “their group”.…
