My First Day of High School

“Beep, Beep, Beep!” 6:00 A.M my alarm clock was activated, it was time for me to get ready and prepared myself for my first day of High School as a freshman student in Piscataway Vo – Tech High School. Fear, excitement, and all of these different emotions were running through my head as I wondered how difficult high school would be, who I would sit with at lunch time or if I would be able to memorize my locker combination. My first day of high school as a freshman student was very stressful but I learned something very important that will always help me in life; I should ask for help when I need it.

“Mami, I don’t know where I have to go, I’m lost and I’m just standing in a corner. I don’t want to be here, I want to go home.” I left my mother a voice mail since she didn’t pick up the phone. I felt so alone. I started to walk to the main office by following signs that were on the walls of the hallways. I went inside of the main office with a sad face and my eyes all watery. One of the staff members asked me if I were ok. I told her no, I was lost and I didn’t know where to go. She searched up for my name and printed put my schedule. With a happy voice she told me, it will be a pleasure for her to take me to class. Her soft voice comforted me a little.

Room 543. “mrs.Silvana, this is Jennifer Almonte. She was lost since it is her first day in the school.” The staff lady said to the teacher. She never introduced herself. “Welcome Jennifer, you may have a sit anywhere you want.” Mrs.Silvana said to me. I sat on the first chair all by myself since everyone else were sitting in the back talking to each other. “Dock, Dock!” Someone was knocking on the door; it was another student, tall, blonde curly hair, and brown eyeglass wearing a black dress with converse sneakers and looking all crazy.
“Hey Everyone!” – The female student yelled. I could tell she was from the school already. She introduced herself and said that she is a junior student and a Hispanic student.
