This story is set in Ireland ,1982, where families in Ireland are very religious. The story is evolved around Jackie the main character in the story. The story is about this little boy confessing his sins to a priest, which then leads to some life learning experience for Jackie. The summary of this story is that, Jackie’s grandfather died ,and the grandma has moved in with Jackie and his family. Jackie does not like his grandma because of the way she favors his sister Nora over him, and that he thinks that her way of acting is old fashion. Jackie’s rewards all came from the priest, his rewards are earning the priest approval, also he got to walk out with the priest which is quiet a big deal back in those days in Ireland priest were almost considered royalty, also while the priest was walking out with Jackie he gave him a candy which made Nora very jealous ,and he also got to experience confessing and that it really isn’t that scary. Nora got her rewards because her farther and her grandma think she’s a little angel. By “sucking up to grandma” as Jackie says not only she got pennies from her grandma but also pleased his dad which then took Nora’s side without asking about Jackie’s side and punished him, when Jackie committed a sin. Jackie got his rewards by opening up and confessing all his sins to the priest ,and also because the priest was very
