Firo B Assessment Paper

Decent Essays
A situation Firo-B assessment would be appropriate establishing a team to build trust. Being new to a team is hard and there will be diversity and different point of views some voices maybe strong others maybe soft. The goal of building a team is to get each member to work effective together and sort out any issues that arises and complete the task within set time frame. I think Feldman CPI 260 assessment is similar because it measures work related motivation and characteristics (2009). For example, if Pat and Seth clashes all the time both assessment will help them work through differences and become cohesive.
A situation Firo-B would be appropriate raising self-awareness Feldman helps individuals understand learned behavior and blaming others

Each class has 10 samples, which represents a person's 10 face images. We randomly select two classes from AT&T database and choose two samples from these two classes as the test samples. We apply SRLP-FS to the two test samples and select {1280, 2560, 3840, 5120, 6400, 7680, 8960, 10240} features respectively to observe the feature selected results.…

The Florida School of Deaf and Blind(FSDB) is located in St. Augustine, Florida and was established in 1882 by Thomas Coleman. This school has had a positive impact on the Deaf community with being one of the first schools in the state of Florida. FSDB has been named as one of the top deaf and blind schools in the nation; with a lot of well-known individual graduates. FSDB, I believe is very well off considering they start with pre-k and go all the way up to teaching young adults. From reading on their website, they take this school very seriously with “high qualified teachers who hold dual certification in both education of students who are deaf/hard of hearing or blind/visually impaired, and in their specific academic content areas” (http://www.fsdb.k12.fl.us/).…

An immediate intervention that could be used to mitigate Joey’s disruptive behavior is to establish a reward system. Joey’s disruptive behavior is motivated by a need for adult attention that manifests in the form of talking out of turn, loudly and off topic. The antecedents include: interrupting when the teacher gives attention to his classmates, talking louder if he feels he is being ignored, and off topic outbursts when he is disengaged or bored. Since this behavior persists all throughout the day, a reward system that focuses on reducing the frequency of his behavior would be most successful. The potential to spend one-on-one time with the teacher would be a reward that would eliminate the antecedents of this behavior, facilitate his need for adult attention, and have intrinsic value to Joey so that he is motivated to self-monitor his behavior.…

Michael A West (2012) states that there are two areas of team functioning, task and social reflexivity, the team reflexivity questionnaire was produced by West to help assess how effectively a team functions, to measure the levels of task and social reflexivity in my team, I decided to ask all of my team members to complete this questionnaire. Upon reflecting back to my team, I was shocked with the results I decided to feedback to each team member during a one to one session, so they could feel confident with being honest with me, after the one to ones, I held a group feedback session, using the skills learnt from the Mary seacole we managed to have a productive discussion from this we were able to reflect together, asked them to evaluate myself as a leader, and how I could change, the feedback from my team was positive, I now have clear objectives, and from this I have set clear objectives for my team referring to SMART(Specific, Measureable, Action Oriented, Realistic and Time bound), the most aspiring feedback comment from this session, was that they have never had a leader who has applied the skills that I have learnt from the Mary Seacole Programme, after this one session it was apparent they felt engaged and motivated as a team and on an individual basis, as I did as…

Looking at the Fair Labor Standards Act Prior to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) earning enough money to support a family was very hard. At this time, employers could pay their workers whatever they pleased. This resulted in whole families, including the children, working long hours in terrible conditions for barely enough money to survive. Today the FLSA protects workers from employers who only seek to exploit them. It establishes a minimum wage, overtime pay, and equal pay.…

I feel as if the group project could have been done a lot better I felt as there was more of a focus on getting to know one another rather than focusing on the assessment. Currently I am not as confident on working with individuals that I don’t know so well as I was when we first started as I realized not everyone in the group had the same approach towards the task as I did especially in terms of prioritization despite this I believe I am more confident in showing leadership as Staci and Emily had other commitments I attempted to accommodate for this by contacting them and working out times when they were both free I believe this was a positive thing as normally in group assessments I have a tendency to rely on other people to make decisions like this and it was a positive experience delegating rather than receiving tasks. Overall working with Staci and Emily was fine as I have a more passive personality in group assignments it was a good learning experience for me a study has also shown that working as group positively influences and facilitates an exchange of knowledge(Shaw, Mitchell and Del Fabbro, 2015) this definitely occurred during our group work when it came to elaborating on social determinants I was able to help both Staci and Emily better understand them while Staci assisted me in learning about the stream factors overall I believe we compensated very well for each other’s gaps of knowledge . On the other side of the spectrum our fourth member Louis was difficult to work with as he contacted us the weekend before the assignment was actually ready to present and this caused a lot of stress and panic, after talking to Emily and Staci they definitely felt the same way about the situation with…

Throughout my educational career standardized testing has been a major part in determining whether or not you can proceed to the next grade or whether you have to take the class again. A Lot of kids that were my age when I had to take the STAAR test usually dreaded having to take a standardized test like the STAAR English II exam. I was no different, I was one of those kids who just wanted to get this test done with and move one. For a while this philosophy of mine worked, however that all would change when I ended up failing the English II STAAR test during my sophomore year of high school. Thus leading to a change in how I would view standardized testing and how my writing composition skills would eventually improve and affect my life.…

I personally do not enjoy partaking in group-based assignments based on my own personal negative experiences, although, I do acknowledge the benefits group work can bring. It was highly noticeable to me, that working remotely can be difficult for some students to manage given the lack of existing relationship between members. I, as a team player, was a highly active contributor throughout the creative synthesis projects, who understood my effort would determine not only my own academic outcome but also the outcome of my peers. Although, not all who are trusted with the grades of their peers, take such a responsibility so seriously. Each team member brings different experiences and expectations to the table and therefore, navigating these assessments can be somewhat treacherous if team members are not on the same page.…
