Narrative Essay On 9/11

The first responders in New York City on September 11, 2011 were some of the bravest people we have heard stories about. To put this date into perspective, whoever graduated high school in 2016 were only three to four years old. Just a few days ago was the 15th anniversary of that tragic day. That anniversary triggered a memory of the 9/11-Memorial Museum. The photo of a lone firefighter, sitting on the edge of a pile of rubble strikes a chord with the views hearts. He has the posture of a broken man who has nothing else in the world but the clothes on his back. His bloody hand dangling down with no effort of trying to keep it upright. The photograph lacks any color except for gray, the jacket on his back, his gloves, and his helmet. The broken respondent is covered with the dust and ash of two colossal building. No matter if it is his or someone else’s it is still pain he will feel. Seeing people hurt is almost worse then being hurt yourself. While the color red has some good connotations, it mainly has bad; such as, blood, death, pain, and suffering. With the knowledge of the day one can only imagine what he has endured. The thought of blood on this day sends chills down the spine, because the thought of what he witnessed is just indescribable. Blood is associated with death and this day was full of it. This firefighter deserves to just sit after all they he has endured on such a day. He is looking right at this hand holding it. Does this mean that he is trying to hold on to someone he lost, or is it a remembrance of what he has witnessed. Maybe he doesn’t want to let go because then it’s letting go of something or someone. In any case the red really sticks out because it is one of the only colors other than yellow and
