Firefighter A Hero

Why is a firefighter a hero?

I chose the topic of what makes a firefighter a hero, because my house was on fire once. If it wasn’t for the firefighters my house would be gone. They have great teamwork. They are willing to risk their lives. they fight the fire to keep our things and houses safe.

They do what they do to keep us and the things we love safe. They will risk their lives for us. They are willingly giving their own time to help those of us who need help. The bond and trust they have with each other is tremendous.

They have courage, more than most people do what they do. They may look like they love to help people and that’s because most of them do. Some of them joined to make a difference in their community. Others did it because

I am a woman. I am a firefighter. Oftentimes it feels like those two statements were never meant to be said together, but I say them proudly. If I had a dollar for every time I’ve had to smile politely or laugh awkwardly when a stranger hurled a cliché in my direction, I’d be quite wealthy. It’s not easy being a firefighter.…

A research paper was given as assignment in my English class. This research activity weights a good percentage of the final grade. Although I have done research papers for previous classes, this project has become special for me because I’m trying to demonstrate to myself how well prepared I am, and also it’s the opportunity to show the abilities attained in previous courses during my time in BCC. Certainly I have to admit that due to all information that I have to compile, this research activity has become like a nightmare for me, but I will put all my effort to contradictorilymake of this paper one of the best papers I ever made. I chose the topic “Have Government actions made New York City safer after 9/11?…

For veterans, sacrifice is a constant in their lives, be it the sacrifices they make at home, to leave their family and friends behind them for their country's sake, or on enemy lines, when they're selflessly putting their lives at stake for us. They become veterans because of their patriotism, their dedication to those around them, the pursuit of freedom, and for their beliefs. Everything this country is built on is protected by veterans’ blood, sweat, tears, and hard work. These sacrifices and their work are what make veterans so important. They pledge their lives to ensuring our safety and well-being, and when they come home, there is nothing to distinguish them from an everyday person.…

Senator John Hoeven tells us, "From the world wars of Europe to the jungles of the Far East, from the deserts of the Middle East to the African continent, and even here in our own hemisphere, our veterans have made the world a better place and America the great country we are today. " The Senator's words reveal two important reasons why veterans should be appreciated... those who serve in the Armed forces are always needed, and they truly do make a difference. We should appreciate our veterans because our military is always needed and has been from the time of our country's birth. Our veterans have braved combat and defended our freedom from the Revolutionary War through current international conflicts.…

Some people do not know that they are even someone’s hero. When a person has the power to stand strong and fight for what they believe in they too can be a hero. These are the type of people that give others hope and save lives each and every day. You do not have to have super powers to save someone, you do not have to be in a position or a career where the main goal is to save someone’s life such as a doctor, a policeman or a firefighter. Heroes can be everyday people, such as a teacher; who teaches kids the everyday essentials of life to grow and be a better person, a parent; who guides and raise their children and protect their children, and even a janitor or trash man; people that help keep the environment clean for our safety and…
