The second amendment states allows people to have the right to keep and bear arms, and as an individual, I stand on the conservative side to do so, rather than a liberal thinker, who believes in authorities being the only ones to bear arms and protect individuals. the person you 're getting it from must be a licenced official who 's selling it, you must register your gun and report it if it 's stolen (Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence 2015), which all contributes to a responsible gun owner. but as a liberal. they may argue the fact of if it 's being gifted to someone, and that person who it is being gifted to is a criminal, but as an ex-convict “ Many states allow you to expunge, seal or otherwise “hide” or “destroy” your criminal record. Generally, if a crime record is expunged or sealed, it’s as though the crime never occurred and you can legally say (to a potential employer, for example) that you were never charged or convicted a crime (NOLO, 2015). which means they’re not a criminal anymore by law, and that your rights are opened back up as if you were never a convicted. Along with a ex-convict getting their charges expunged to purchase a firearm, this allows them to protect themselves just like anyone else would want to

In the essay, “Just Take Away Their Guns”, James Q. Wilson a Management and Policy professor at UCLA, argues that legally owned guns are not the problem, in fact the real problem lies with society ignoring the usage of illegal guns. The purpose of this essay is to convey to society that gun crimes can be stopped before a shot is fired, that it does not entitle a huge stack of forms at the local gun store. Wilson effectively argues that legally owned guns are necessary for citizens to protect themselves, reasonable police frisks should be in place to stop illegal gun use before the crime is committed and ultimately guns agitate the situation making crimes worse. The authors credibility and logical appeal are overall effective, in spite of the lack of emotional appeal or connection to the audience. Despite the absence of Pathos, the author conveys an adequate amount of logic, which carries the paper to an effective and persuasive conclusion.…
