This led me thinking about the centre’s fire safety aspects because I could clearly vision it as a possible imposed change from my knowledge (Campbell-Barr and Leeson, 2016) on the ‘Safeguarding Children’. I thus researched on the policies to learn what the safest requirements of an early years setting were. Then, I prepared a fire safety checklist (Appendix 2.2) and learned that the setting needed intervention.
I planned for a meeting (Appendix 2.3.1) with aim of deciding the team that would be most motivated to improve this area with me. I discovered that I needed more evidences to convince the practitioners on the urgency of this issue (May, Ashford and Bottle, 2016). I wanted to equip myself with facts so that the practitioners will see the issue from my perspective.
