Fire N Gold is a song by Bea Miller, released in 2014. Titled Fire N Gold, it is about finding a spark and a purpose, or as the artist says: "It's reminding all the people who are really down in the dumps and who feel like they're alienated and like no one understands them and they’re really alone that they do have a purpose in life and that they are here for a reason." The song has many similarities and references that relate to the book, and I will try to describe them.
The song starts with “Like an astronaut that's scared of heights, with a heart that's beating at the speed of light. You've been waiting for this feeling all your life, sometimes it's just hard to realize…I think this relates to the burning church, and Johnny and Ponyboy realizing that they are not stuck as bad “greasers”, and even though Johnny killed someone, he can still save others. "'i'll get them, don't worry!' I started at a dead run for the church, and the man caught my arm. 'I'll get them. You kids stay out!' I jerked loose and ran on. All I could think was: we started it. We started it. We started it!" page 78. Johnny and Ponyboy realize that they need to save the kids, and that no one else will do it. They realize this is their moment, and they should take it, and help others instead of fitting into the stereotype of greasers.
