Finding Nemo Research Paper

Most people who have seen Finding Nemo would probably remember the scene where Nemo’s father, Marlin, asks Crush, the hipster sea turtle, how old he is. When his answer was “Hundred and fifty, and still young, dude. Rock on.”, some people might have laughed and did not think much about it and the ones who are insightful about sea life may have said that the writers actually confused the sea turtles with tortoises. If people actually research about sea turtles, they will find that sea turtles usually only live up to 50 years, sometimes 80 years, but rarely 150 years. Tortoises, however, have one of the longest lifespans of any animal and have an average lifespan of 100 years. It is still a fascinating mystery to researchers that these species have survived more than 200 million years. These two reptiles may seem visually similar to the average person, each with a hard shell, but they have many characteristics about them that set them apart.
Turtles spend most of their lives in or near water. Sea Turtles, for example, do not leave the water unless they are adult female sea turtles that are about to lay eggs. They do this several times per

There have been some that have lived until 175 years. One, in particular, was Harriet, a Giant Galapagos Tortoise, who was collected by Charles Darwin in 1835. Like Harriet, most tortoises have extremely heavy, high, and dome shaped shells (some that contain bumps). But, some are smaller and have a “saddleback” shell. Adult tortoises usually have a brown shell and the young tortoises usually have dark tan shells. They also have claws to be able to dig, short and sturdy feet, and their front limbs are protected with thick scales. Tortoises can also completely retract their heads when they feel like they are in danger. Most tortoises eat safe grasses and weeds, leafy greens, and some hard vegetables and moist fruits. Since they are herbivores, they do not eat any type of

Recently, scientists have discovered fossils of an extinct species of turtles that particularly have snouts as noses, similar to a pig. However, because of its snout, it was named Golden's bacon turtle, or Arvinachelys golden. Usually, turtles have one nasal passage in their skulls because of how fleshy their nostrils are. Arvinachelys golden was found by a team from Natural History Museum of Utah and discovered the fossil at the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. In addition, this turtle also had a near completed forelimb, partial hindlimbs, and vertebrae from the neck and tail, unlike any other turtle ever recorded.…
