Finding Forrester Essay

Finding Forester is a movie written by Mike Rich and directed by Gus Van San. The movie Finding Forrester is about a relationship between a young student, Jamal, who is from the poor community and an old man Forrester, who has been hiding in his house. Their relationship starts when Jamal break into Forrester’s house. They have become friends. Both have a love for writing and they learn from each other. The director uses some of the Aristotle elements throughout the film such as plot, characters, setting, and point of view.

The plot is composed of action, climax, exposition, etc. Jamal was an African student who is gifted in basketball and is an excellent student. He is most known for his ability in basketball and he were always playing basketball with his friends in the court next to his house after class. While playing basketball with his friends, Forrester was spying on them all the time. The next day, Jamal went to the apartment to find out who is spying on them. Jamal forgot his bag in the man house, and when he went to get it he noticed that all his journal was graded. He went back to the house to ask him (Forrester)question. That is how they became friends. Jamal’s teacher gave him a book written by William Forrester and he noticed that was the man behind the window, they made a promise to never tell anyone and he will help him with his writing. Jamal stories were always good that the teacher thought he plagiarism and did not let him do the speech.
