In some ways, a book is kind of like a dog. They both bring happiness to people and can make someone a better person. The book Finding Danny, by Linzi Glass, should not be burned because it is a cute story that kids all ages can read, it is a very inspiring book, and it is a very personal book. It brings back a kids childhood which allows them to relate to the book. Any person who loves animals, like to be inspired, or even just likes a cute story with a good plot would love this book. Finding Danny has a great ending to sum up the book extremely well. “It still seemed like a dream, bringing Danny home, watching him lie down in his doggy bed for the first time”(187). In the end Danny got home safe while Bree spends weeks looking for him and volunteering time at an animal shelter. Throughout the book, it has many situations of having to be strong and pulling through on a difficult situation. Glass did a great job of making characters have to put their mind on a situation and not give up no matter what happens. “‘Danny it's really you!’ I cried into his soft fur”(194). At this point in the book, all of Bree’s hard work for looking for her dog Danny finally payed off. This helped show that working hard to fix a situation can have a positive outcome. Also, at the end of the book Bree wrote a letter to the women who helped her find her dog. At the end of the letter she rephrased what Rayleen had said. “You must be the change you wish to see in the world”(185). This is very inspiring because it states that change starts with the person who wants to see
