The Importance Of Kappa Leadership Conference

General Convention is held every two years. The event is open to all collegiate and alumna members. Attendees have the opportunity to vote on important organizational topics, network with one another and attend educational sessions and workshops.
Kappa Leadership Conference is held in non-convention years and focuses on officer-specific training as well as adviser training. The presented programming aligns with our Pillars of Education. For example, this year, subject-matter experts will conduct education and training on topics concerning well-being—specifically mental health and diversity.

Establishing a culture of servant leadership among our members is an important way Kappa encourages women to make a difference and get the job done. When it comes to philanthropic endeavors, we put an emphasis on service to others and raising funds to impact our community and beyond. Like the UD student, our members find inspiration in creating a better environment that affects positive change.
Our philanthropic ideology focuses on efforts in three areas: local organizations, Reading Is Fundamental and the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation.
We know inspiration often comes from personal connections. We encourage our chapters to assist local organizations that hold special meaning for them. Whether it’s supporting agencies that benefit women, organizations that work with children or any number of other causes, you’ll find Kappas making a difference in the

Our local chapters host events to raise funds to provide financial assistance to families with children attending. Because of their efforts, children are able to attend the camp for free. Additionally, Kappas visit the camp and see firsthand the joy the kids experience.
In our desire to strengthen the youth of the surrounding communities and prepare them for the future, Kappa formed a national partnership with Reading Is Fundamental, an organization that seeks to transform lives through the power of books. Together with RIF, Kappa is working to empower young minds to embrace the world of reading and learning. Kappas do their part by hosting Reading Is Key events on campus and in the community.
Members from our Loyola chapter visited a local community center to hold their Reading Is Key event. All of the students enjoyed snacks and crafts. At the end of the evening, each student was invited to pick out their own book to take home.
Chapter members from Villanova partnered with a local charter school and visited weekly for reading sessions. Together with the school, the members focused on improving the reading proficiency of each
