The third need for families with a student with special educational needs is special education services. Some of the educational services that may be needed for the family and their child are occupational therapy, speech therapy, audiology, orientation and mobility services, academic special education services, inclusion in general education classroom, and much more or less depending on child’s needs. The trend that I notice is that if the child is capable to do more things independently; there is less of a need for financial services. On the flip side of that, as the severity of the disability increased, the more the financial services are needed. Some of the financial service needed by a family of a student with special educational needs include “…increased physician and emergency visits, hospitalizations, prescription medications, medical procedures, therapies and ancillary care…” (double cite on Parish introductions) which is not cheap for families or on government entities that help with these
