Improved Essays
In my life I have been very fortunate in that my parents have been willing and able to provide for my financial needs so that I have not had to get a full time job. My parents have always said that school was my job, and I have always worked hard to make sure that I do the absolute best I can in school. In high school I took all honors and AP classes, as well as participating in multiple clubs and after school activities, and now in my first year of college I am already a junior with credits and I am working hard to try to graduate in two and a half years. Although I have not had an officially job so far in my life, I have been babysitting for multiple families since I was about 12 or 13 years old. I have watched children ranging from newborns to middle schoolers, and I have watched as many as five …show more content…

"Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty and persistence" I have had many ups and downs over the course of my life thus far. One specific example of this took place during my freshman year of high school. When I started high school it was very challenging for me, partially due to the fact that; during this time, I was lazy, unmotivated and did not really take school seriously. This by far is one of my biggest regrets to this day. Who would ever think that not trying during my freshman year would continue to follow me throughout the course of my academic career.…

Upon entering college, my high school career has set me apart from being a “normal” graduate. My unique personal interests, like volunteering at the animal shelter, define me as a passionate and hardworking individual. I have taken on a special interest in my friends at my local animal shelter, and with my free time, I enjoy helping wash dogs, playing with puppies, and cleaning kennels. The time I spend there is not only beneficial for the shelter, but also for me. I have learned the pay off for working at the shelter is worth a lot more than a few service hours.…

Growing up I was always the tallest kid in the class. Whenever class picture day rolled around, I knew that I was in the front of the line because of my height. It was somewhat embarrassing when all the boys were shorter than I, and the girls made me feel bad for how out of place I was. Not only did my height provide social awkwardness, it also administered the constant, never ending struggle of finding garments long enough. Whenever my mom or grandmothers wanted to take me back to school shopping, I made excuses of “I don’t need any more habiliments” or “I do not feel good, all of the sudden…”…

In the Spring of last year, it was my Junior year, one of the most critical years in high school. It’s the year that colleges look at the most, also it was the year that I was in some of the most challenging classes. Mostly honors, a lot of homework, and tests to go along with it. Studying would take me until late at night, and even on weekends, all day long. When it’s the end of the term everyone checks their grades for their report cards, and progress reports.…

My freshman year was one of my craziest school year. It came from fake hall passes, to skipping in the restroom, and acting all bad by getting referrals. I remember my ap secretary always used to call me “Diablo” just because i always got in trouble and she said i used to drive her crazy. I just never cared about the consequence of skipping so much, good thing I never got caught. Meeting new friends and new attitudes and a little more of responsibility and to be honest waking up so early every single morning was not that fun.…

Between school, gymnastics, extra curricular activities, work, cheer, and many more activities I have to say I have been very busy throughout my high school years. There has been ups and downs, yet through all of them I have learned valuable lessons that I will take with me as I go off to college.
