Financial Aid Executive Summary

• Provided critical analysis on how financial aid is distributed which lead to new procedures and policy for GSE's school based aid programs. (i.e. Faculty GA requests forms and increase GA funding for new docs.
• As of result of increasing GA funding, 31 new doctoral students accepted aid offers for FY17 (this is more than double from prior years).
• Implemented new financial aid program models for both doctoral and master level programs.
• Coordinated a five year estimated Cost Of Attendance program model for all GSE Programs for the NY State Shopping Sheet (still in process)
• Developed new materials for students related to cost of degree and financial aid.
• Implemented a new individualized financial aid counseling process for GSE Admitted

• Provide students with information on both institutional aid and federal aid procedures and policy.
• Prepare financial aid award letters for students depending upon eligibility, letters are sent via SLATE's email communication system for new students, via email for continuing students.
• Responsible for the FAFSA vetting process for students who seek GSE Scholarships that are based on financial need. FAFSA's are verified via the university's financial aid system PowerFAIDS.
• Continuing student aid applicants are reviewed via GSE's Financial Aid Corpora account and new student applicants are reviewed via SLATE (Admissions Online System).
• Run financial aid queries via SLATE system to review new student aid applications.
• Verify all new and continuing student registration for all eligible students each semester before posting aid awards.
• Oversee and coordinate the GA placement process for students who are eligible for graduate assistantships.
• Work with all Chairs and program coordinators on selecting GA's for both administrative and research graduate assistantship
