Hitler's Poland Betrayed: The Nazi-Soviet Invasion

During 1934 a huge event occurred when the president of Germany was announced dead, Hitler becomes president, but his party immediately insisted Hitler in becoming the dictator of Germany without the people’s opinion for another president. Germans were glad that Hitler took over because Germany was a disaster at that time there weren’t any jobs and the people needed help so they trusted in him. Hitler promised that their problems would go away, make Germany a better country, and getting rid of communist; however, everything he promised came true. He was a man of his word, but after 1942 people didn’t trust him due to the chaos he was making. Transporting all Jews to the concentration camps and making them wear the Star of David to distinguish the Jews from other people (The History Place). It …show more content…
Not at the same time period, but almost one year apart. Hitler also wanted to invade Poland, but it was going to be a hard invasion so he made an alliance with Russia called the Hitler-Stalin Pact. No one knew about the alliance people never thought of Germany and Russia as an alliance. They are enemies in the way that Russia is communist and Germany is nationalist, with the secret alliance they had Poland sandwiched. Before attacking Russia in the book “Poland Betrayed: The Nazi-Soviet invasion” the author discusses that, “Hitler had originally planned to launch the invasion of Poland on 25 August, but the announcement of the ratification of the British guarantee of Poland, as well as Mussolini’s reluctance to honor the Pact of Steel and support Germany, made Hitler to postpone the invasion (Williamson).” In September 1, 1939 Hitler ordered the invasion of Poland, and gain controlled over the territory, but lead to a disaster since Poland was in an alliance with Britain; Britain declared war against Germany creating a massive war known as
