Final Reflection
The most proud of accomplishing to me is that I confidently gave a complete and organized speech at present day. I tried my best to use presentation skills that I have learned from the class and the book. I still remember at the very first speech, even though it was about telling a story and was only 2 minutes, I stammered and felt really nervous. Now, at the end of the semester, I overcame the anxiety, did a lot of research, memorized difficult words, and revised my outline many time; therefore, finally I did a 10 minutes good presentation in front of the class. Since English is not my first language, I know I should make more effort so that I always be strict with myself and grasp every opportunity to practice.
However, I still have a lot of to learn. Besides improving my English skills, I should improve my logical thinking and language proficiency skills. Moreover, when I think back to my final speech, I aware that I should pay attention to my body movement and time allocation during the process of a presentation.
The things I have learned about the speech making process are how to make a complete outline and how to prepare a speech well. I have learned how to set general/specific purpose, and an attractive attention getter, reasonable credibility, and a

Finally, I did an informative speech and a persuasive speech in front of two group of

These different approaches will be presented as three separate papers but interrelated themes. The specific purpose for each paper and the corresponding research questions were addressed individually in each chapter. The approach used in the first paper was a systematic literature search of medication administration errors and the pediatric population; five themes emerged including the incidence rate of medication administration errors, specific medications involved in medication administration errors and classification of the errors, why medication…

Once I’m able to do this, I think that skill will carry over past the class and help me in my specific career path which is one of the most important things about the class to me. Another idea that the book mentioned that I think could be good for me is using movement to minimize anxiety. “You don’t have to stand perfectly still behind the podium when you deliver a speech. Walk around as you make some of your points. Movement relieves tension and helps hold the audience’s attention.”…

I feel like I achieved my purpose well, but would have done better if we had more time for our informative speech. Genetic testing is a complex topic and is hard to fit into a five-minute speech. Overall, I believe I did well in teaching my classmates about genetic testing and cancer.…

My proudest accomplishment is something I have been working very hard on over the course of my senior year. At my high school courses called dual credit are offered to seniors in the subject’s government and English. These courses are much more advanced seeing as they are actually EPCC courses and when completed students revive college credit for them if their semester averages out to at least an eighty. The most challenging class out of both that I am enrolled in is English 1301 which consist of writing six essays over the course of the first semester. Essentially that means an essay is due every two weeks.…

Assignment four, visual rhetorical analysis, helped me develop oral communication skills. For this assignment, we were asked to deliver a presentation, and it was also the first official presentation that we made in front of the whole class in this course. To prepare for this presentation, I first referred to the paper I wrote for the topic, which was warning biohazard, and tried to take out the thesis and main points, then, based on the thesis and main points, I wrote an outline of the presentation. Next thing was creating a powerpoint. After that was just practicing.…

Final Persuasive Speech Reflection Believe me when I say that my progress from then to now has come a long way. Initially after giving the persuasive speech, I felt that there has been little process in all of this time that I had spent trying to learn to communicate more effectively. Worst of all perhaps, I felt powerless to do anything to change this. This was my most practiced speech and it did not feel that way. Even the thought of having to go back and essentially relive those 7 minutes was not something I was particularly excited about.…

You are in class one day when the teacher announces a new assignment: students are to research and give an informative speech about any topic of their choosing. As the student, imagine that you are terrified to not only present the speech in front of your entire class, but to have to go through the process of picking a topic, researching it, organizing your speech, and practicing it as well. At the beginning of my communication class, this was how I felt about producing and giving speeches. I was nervous to talk in front of the class because I have always been very shy and have suffered from extreme speech apprehension. I also dreaded picking a topic and organizing my speeches as well, since I could never make up my mind and I was never good…

I strongly dislike public speaking, but I am working to improve my skills in that area because I know how much it’s needed in the workplace. There were many of my classmates who are graduating at the same time as me and it seems like we all have a lot to improve. We need more practice and more willing to put what we have learned in the past into practice. I know that during our college careers, we have heard from different people about what we should do when we are giving a presentation, but it looks like we did not take it seriously and now we are facing the consequences of giving a presentation like a high school student and not as an almost professional…
