Final Reflection

Through the past eight weeks my view of theology has changed significantly. From my prior reflection essay I discussed theology as a word I could associate with my father and his theology degree he had been seeking to finish. After taking this course I realize that the word theology can be associated to much more and I can also have my own views and ideas as to what things might mean. Through the course I enjoyed the in depth study from start to finish and found it easy to start due to us truly starting at the beginning. In church settings it is often discouraging to hear a sermon and have the pastor assume the congregation knows what he is referring to when discussing various books of the Bible.
While the principles I gained in this course

The purpose of this body of work was to address medication errors and safe medication administration practices in relation to practicing nurses and nursing students via several different approaches. These different approaches will be presented as three separate papers but interrelated themes. The specific purpose for each paper and the corresponding research questions were addressed individually in each chapter. The approach used in the first paper was a systematic literature search of medication administration errors and the pediatric population; five themes emerged including the incidence rate of medication administration errors, specific medications involved in medication administration errors and classification of the errors, why medication…

    Short Term 12 Reflection

Short Term 12 was a very interesting movie. It had hints of being realistic, but with aspects where you knew it was a movie. It’s about a group of workers who work in a foster care residential facility setting. The main character, Grace, deals with her own personal struggles while she supervises the children at the facility. I have a short bit of experience at a facility like Short Term 12 in some aspects; I can see where parts of the movie are realistic and where are some are an exaggeration because it is a movie.…

This class has helped open my eyes to one small section of ministry and realize how much work it takes to do ministry even if it is youth ministry which seems like the easiest of ministries. The other Church and Ministry class that has influenced me while being at Trinity is CHML 101. This class has encouraged us to think deeply and about ideas that we have never really thought about before. We have been reading books that help us get a better perspective on what ministry could look like and one of those books that has been a good insight is The Pastor by Eugene Peterson. I have considered being a pastor later on in my life and reading this book has been an interesting and great insight.…

The Influence that Moralistic Therapeutic Deism has had on my Worldview and my Response to that Influence. Before this course began, I had never heard of Moralistic Therapeutic Deism. Now that we have studied it in depth, I believe that it is a spiritually unhealthy habit, yet we all have it to some extent. I have always seen God as kind of a Therapist in the weird sense that he will always listen to me gripe and will never complain. The morality part is clearly addressed in the Bible multiple times.…

This course was very thought-provoking and has made me rethink things about my past and how religion was such a big part of my life. I now have a more open mind about religion and I have so much more respect towards Jews, Muslims, and even Christians. Being religious does not make you less of a person and following what you think is right is always the right thing to do, no matter what others think. I now believe that being religious takes courage because there is a lot of people that judges and generalizes.…

Impact on Church Ministry In chapter ten, Sapiential Theology, Ellen Charry provides a three-part overview of the role of doctrine to help cultivate a skilled life of excellence for a Christian believer. I believe these three sections, The Salutarity of Christian Doctrine, Renewing Sapiential Theology and Practicing The Theological Art to be the most practical areas of Charry’s work that can positively impact my church ministry. The Salutarity of Christian Doctrine…

The introduction to Theology IV Honors has been quite intriguing already. Even though we have only been in school for about three weeks, this class has challenged me to think of my world and my existence as a bigger pictures instead of narrowing my focus on stuff in my life that might seem important now, but in reality is only trivial. The next sentence that you will read might seem strange but it means more to me than one might think: the placement of Theology, in my schedule, is perfect. As I began the school year, I realized that my schedule had three subjects that, in the past, have been quite difficult to me. Not only is the material covered in these classes difficult for me, but the workload given by my teachers has already caused my…

The book “The Big Time” was written by Tim Green centered towards a younger audience and written as a sports fiction book. The protagonist, Troy, a young football standout who’s life is absorbed in football, in the most basic level, and even on the most extreme level in the NFL. He has a mind unlike any other kid his age or adult for that matter. He has the ability to read the offensive patterns set during a game before the play even begins. As he examines the formation and he sees how the linemen are set, he can predict the play, and is almost always perfect in his predictions.…

Second week only consist of four working days, because Monday was Memorial Day. For the rest of the week the Congress is not in session. Drafting constituent’s letter, answering constituent calls, tour request of the Capitol, and flag request from veterans are responsibilities that I held accountable for this week. Second week into work is less hectic and my reaction to my work tasks was a brief moment of resting. I need some clarification and assistance in some areas, but for the most part, I got a hang of it.…

127 Hours is a great if you’re a type of person that likes reading about survival stories and life changing experiences. I myself have mixed feelings towards this book, it’s not as action packed as I thought, but I probably should’ve realized that since it’s more of an informative story book about Aron’s crazy survival. At the start and end it was one of those edge of your seat moments, since all of this crazy unbelievable turn of events happen, that you wouldn’t think it’s possible, then once you realized he’s trapped, reality finally hits you and shows how something so simple like a hike can turn into one of the biggest life changing events of your life. Aron’s memoir itself was pretty jaw dropping because of the fierce disaster he was placed…
