Wow. I’m already on my second semester of my first year of university. Time is flying by. (How Cliche) But it's true. I was so nervous for my first day of university but I wish I knew before that there was nothing to be nervous about.

University is obviously way different than high school but it's amazing because you share the same interests with your peers and professors. I’m learning about topics, techniques, theories, history, and hands- on activities that excite me.

I truly believe that this will be a time where I will find myself and be able to learn more about me that i never knew about myself. I started this chapter in my life knowing that i love media but i was- and still am unsure which path of media i will take. With every course

The purpose of this body of work was to address medication errors and safe medication administration practices in relation to practicing nurses and nursing students via several different approaches. These different approaches will be presented as three separate papers but interrelated themes. The specific purpose for each paper and the corresponding research questions were addressed individually in each chapter. The approach used in the first paper was a systematic literature search of medication administration errors and the pediatric population; five themes emerged including the incidence rate of medication administration errors, specific medications involved in medication administration errors and classification of the errors, why medication…

Kerensa, The semester has slipped by disturbingly fast. Hopefully it's not just because I'm getting older -- the school year lasted forever when I was little. The weather has been weird: mildest winter on record with the largest snow storm of the year coming in late march. And yes, it did snow last week.…

Short Term 12 was a very interesting movie. It had hints of being realistic, but with aspects where you knew it was a movie. It’s about a group of workers who work in a foster care residential facility setting. The main character, Grace, deals with her own personal struggles while she supervises the children at the facility. I have a short bit of experience at a facility like Short Term 12 in some aspects; I can see where parts of the movie are realistic and where are some are an exaggeration because it is a movie.…

Through the past eight weeks my view of theology has changed significantly. From my prior reflection essay I discussed theology as a word I could associate with my father and his theology degree he had been seeking to finish. After taking this course I realize that the word theology can be associated to much more and I can also have my own views and ideas as to what things might mean. Through the course I enjoyed the in depth study from start to finish and found it easy to start due to us truly starting at the beginning. In church settings it is often discouraging to hear a sermon and have the pastor assume the congregation knows what he is referring to when discussing various books of the Bible.…

My research assignment became problematic due to my weakness of correctly citing my work. I think the time that I spent in the WRGT 101 class was more than helpful in terms of the knowledge that I absorbed in regards to searching and gathering material for a topic. The topic that I selected for my paper was how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Initially, at the start of the paper, I believe myself to be highly knowledgeable on the subject but I walked away from all my research with a plethora of new information on my topic.…

In my time at NYU and abroad in South Africa, I have been given the opportunity to work both alongside and in the communities of amazing people. The majority of these peeps being women simply because of the gender and women’s politics that I have focused my major and work on. I have taken the issues I care about and attempted to intersect them with different multimedia platforms. For example, I made a short film that touches on both the prevailing topic of sexual assault on college campuses and street harassment in New York City.…

I have and always had this urge to see change. I realised that as humans this is innate in us, and we should act upon this natural instinct in everything we do. From as far back as my memory goes I would question why people behave the way they do. Society seems on the surface to be regressing, but people are progressing and are becoming more and more conscious and it’s these people who will bring forth change against those striving so hard to stifle it. It would hurt me as a child watching children on the television dying from starvation and seeing people homeless from war.…

My first semester of college has been an intersting learning experience. It has been full of ups and downs. I’ve learned a lot since being in college, mostly how to take charge of my life and get my priorities straight. I learned that being successful in college depends on how you prioritize your work and how serious you take it. At first my priorities weren 't where they were supposed to be, and I realized my grades were going to suffer if I did not change.…

This opportunity is once in a lifetime and it has erased my self-doubt. It is clear in my head that each and every one of us struggles and each struggle is a building block for success. I am at a point where I probably wouldn’t dream of being three years ago, no hesitation and no fear of the future because we all started out somewhere. Much like those that came before me we all had to start from scratch and even great film directors started out somewhere! Tenacity and love is what drives me to pursue my dream to be in…

This semester has been a very difficult, stressful, and challenging for me . High School can not compare the amount of stress I had to face in this fall semester at Hostos Community College. However, it is like that with many other students because making a transition is frightening and many of us find a way to run away from it. Everything in life is a challenge and it is scary as well, but for those who want to study it all starts of with college. It took me more than words to actually realize the reality that I am actually living right at this very moment because, I was not expecting so many things to fall apart, but somehow becoming whole again.…
