ACA 122 course has been an eye opener for me to say the least. I went in not knowing how much information and documents are required for college transfer. Upon completion I can say that this course has helped me acquire all the information needed in preparation to transfer to a four-year university. This course has taught me the knowledge that I need to strive through my educational journey such as the test-taking strategies, reading strategies and the note taking strategies which I find to be very useful. I have also discovered some strengths and weakness that I have regarding my studying skills and I have been working to improve the weaknesses. Through the career profiler assignment, I learned so much about the profession that I am interested and the many possible careers or positions that are available. I researched nurse practitioner for my career profiler. I found this profession interesting and what excites me about this career is that I get the chance to work directly with patients not just behind the scenes and it is a diverse, flexible, rewarding career where I can make a huge difference in someone's life. It is also a career I can continue to learn new things every day and the opportunities for growth are unlimited. I think that the most difficult aspect of this profession would be working long hours because of the physical toll it has on the body since you spend most of the time on your feet, which can lead to health issues. Dealing with hazardous material such as infections while doing the job and also dealing with difficult patients. This career fits with my interests and personality because It involves taking care of people and I consider myself to be a

Reflection Memo of Assignment 1 As I was revising my essay of Assignment 1, I started reviewing the whole process of how I constructed, wrote and revised. I really enjoy the process of deeply unearthing the great memories during my process of English learning, which was unforgettable. It is hard for me to forget how my first English teacher taught me: she was harsher than any teacher I met, but what she taught was invaluable. To be honest, the process of producing such an essay was arduous: as a non-native English writer, it was hard to select accurate words while describing the learning process.…

Short Term 12 was a very interesting movie. It had hints of being realistic, but with aspects where you knew it was a movie. It’s about a group of workers who work in a foster care residential facility setting. The main character, Grace, deals with her own personal struggles while she supervises the children at the facility. I have a short bit of experience at a facility like Short Term 12 in some aspects; I can see where parts of the movie are realistic and where are some are an exaggeration because it is a movie.…

Writing. When I hear the word writing I automatically begin to panic. My mind begins to go blank in terms of what I would write about or what I need to do. Having taken Writing 10 this semester I feel more at ease and confident in my writing abilities. I have grown in a multitude of ways as a writer that include how to think about an idea and how to translate it to a question, as before I merely wrote about a topic rather than actually driving into the topic.…

A good year for me in 10th grade would be a year where I can feel as comfortable as possible in the classroom atmosphere. I am an introvert, which makes me very social with the people in the class that I do know, and I am able to meet and get along with new people. My main problem with this is that I get tired in social situations quickly, and if I have the choice to work alone, I will. I also have struggled pretty severely with social anxiety. I have been working on this with my guidance counselor last year and I see a therapist outside of school, but even with all this help last year I was accidently scheduled into an improv class and on the first day during introductions I became nervous and had a panic attack.…

First of all, I learned that I could not do anything if I do not save money. In the article, the author helps me realize the importance of saving to my life.…

For my service-learning practicum, I have been placed in a Catholic Public school named St. Charles in Thorold, Ontario. Since I am in the primary/junior program of Concurrent Education, I have been placed in a grade one classroom which I am very pleased with. One thing I have noticed about the grade one classroom is how organized it is. The first thing you notice when walking into the classroom is how the teacher uses the walls to enhance classroom lessons. Alphabets, numbers, seasons, countries, and spelling cover the walls throughout the classroom.…
