This particular attraction is based on the individual’s subconscious image of the ideal mate and effectively supports the concept of ‘love at first sight’ as most people have a subconscious ideal and make the immediate judgment of the person as lovable and attractive. The relationship quickly changes scope in Frankie’s order of priority, where being with Theresa takes preference over the extra money that he receives as tips from the Carmody’s residence. After being denied permission to see Theresa at the hospital, Frankie becomes conscious of his true and deep feelings that he has for Theresa.
