So…you did some networking….let’s reflect on the experience and how it will inform your networking decisions moving forward.
For each of your goals (please restate them below), respond to the following:
Networking Goal 1: My original networking goal was to meet with a faculty member to discuss my career goals and to ask who they would recommend for me to connect with. But then I changed it to meeting with a past faculty member to discuss my career goals and to ask for recommendations of people.
What components of this networking activity went well for you?
The meeting that I had with a past faculty member was very productive. It was also very relaxed; I didn’t feel rushed or nervous because I had a very good relationship

I was able to gain numerous contacts that could be valuable for me in the near future. Through this experience I learned that it is important to not forget about anyone in the past that helped you succeed. I would also recommend that others reach out to their past faculty members.

Networking Goal 2: Conduct an informational interview with a new connection who is a professional related to your field

What components of this networking activity went well for you?
I had the opportunity to go out to dinner with my friends Dad, who is an Account Executive for a major technology company. During dinner, I gained an immensurable amount of knowledge, such as how he prepares in order to execute a sale or how much time his job takes him away from his family. I also thought that I would be nervous while talking to him, but again my nervous were calm.

What components of this networking activity were challenging for you?
A component of this networking activity that was challenging for me was during the preparation stage, I had difficulty figuring out what questions to ask

I also learned what it takes to become a successful salesman and I would definitely recommend that people try this experience.

Networking Goal 3: My original networking goal was, use the Find Alumni tool on LinkedIn and reach out to a new connection to ask a specific question about their field, education, background, current role, etc. But then I shortly changed it, there was a networking opportunity available from my previous institution, and I got speak to some students about the honors program.
What components of this networking activity went well for you?
The components that went well for me during this experience was getting the chance to rebuild previous relationships that had been lost due to me attending a new college. I was a little nervous at first because I didn’t want to mess up anything that I was saying and there were a few people that I didn’t know. But I progressed through with my discussion.

What components of this networking activity were challenging for you?
Really the only components that were challenging for me going back to my old institution brought back a lot of memories which made me miss it and then having a little bit of a panic attack during the preparation stage of figuring out what to say to
