The film shows more than women achieving their goals of having a political voice, it shows that with persistence, one can achieve their goals. Before they even had a place in the senate and congress, women had to push their views through grassroots movements. Would enough momentum and persistence they were able to achieve a higher position in America's government. What else that is important, is that women did not only push for their voice to be heard but started a change that would later allow for minority of every type to be heard and represented.
Would politics look different if women weren't a part of it? How/how not?
Politics would be much different without women and I believe this is because of diversity. It was already hard for women to do it all and still show male chauvinist that they can compete. With Ms. Palin presence, she brought the idea that women are sporadic, uninformed, and cannot handle a political job while being a mother. Of course she does not represent womankind but it only takes one individual in the limelight to ruin it for the rest. An example of this is Barack Obama as the first African-American president. He had to always keep himself in check under intense scrutiny because the slights infraction would set African-American politicians back.
