Film Revision Assignment

For the Revision Assignment, I chose to revise my film review because it was my lowest grade that I had on a writing assignment. I felt I could improve on a lot of sloppy errors I made and missed he first writing process by giving it a more keen editing and revision process. I really enjoyed this assignment because it allowed us as writers to express ourselves with more freedom than the other, more academic, assignments we’ve been prompted to write over the course of English Composition I and II. The first time I wrote this piece I followed the writing process of prewriting, writing, revision, then editing. I felt this was a strong paper content-wise. Where I went wrong was attempting to use too many words I normally wouldn’t write with such

“Go Back to Where You Came From” is a powerful documentary series that first aired on the 21st of June 2011. (SBS, copyright 2015) It features the journey of six Australians, all with very personal views about asylum seekers, living the refugee experience in reverse for a period of 25 days. This assignment task requires us to analyse and evaluate how well the documentary persuades the audience to adopt the invited reading of feeling empathy for the refugees coming here to Australia (N. Maine, 2016). The techniques of mise-en-scene, post-production and cinematography are used continuously to explore in detail the harsh conditions of which many refugees have lived in their home countries and why they are so determined to come to Australia.…

My introduction paragraph was not up to the senior level writing. My writing simply didn’t make a clear path that allowed me to carry my ideas throughout the whole paper. The flow of each sentence was choppy and that made it difficult for anyone reading this paper get into the essay; therefore, I need to start including transitional words, phrase, or sentence so the reader and I can easily read my essay faster and with ease. Another thing that I would change is the thesis that I made.…

My final draft of the rhetorical analysis of “Marijuana Legalization Defended” by Scott Kolker is a composition of four total drafts. I began by getting the information I wanted down and into the right format that someone would need to make a rhetorical analysis. The second draft involved simple revisions of spelling and grammar to make sure that everything made sense to the reader and could be easily read. After our workshop in class together, I went and revised the draft to for more details that included adding more details and went into a greater detail, this ended up adding a little over a page of deeper detail for the reader to understand the points I was trying to make. My fourth and final draft was incredibly analytical of not only…

For this artifact, we had to analyze Wendy Guerra’s 2006 young adult novel Everyone Leaves. Before completing this essay, we learned about various concepts related to the novel, including the bildungsroman genre (which is closely related to the coming-of-age genre except it explains a character’s maturity after a dramatic event in their life) and the author’s hometown of Cuba. We then brainstormed different themes for the book, which were related to the essential questions of this artifact: “Why do people leave?” and “Why do people stay?” I think Mr. Smith assigned this artifact to demonstrate how literature not only connects to history, but also helps us not to repeat it.…

The assignment I chose to make revisions to was the Resume and Cover Letter assignment. I chose this assignment not only because of my letter grade, but also because I feel this assignment will be beneficial in my future when sending off a cover letter and resume to potential employers. To begin, I made changes to my cover letter. There were a few sentence structure errors. For example, “With reference to your advertisement in The University of Tennessee Knoxville Center of Development, I am writing you with regard to the job opening for a Forensic Accountant.”…

He tries to go to his twin brother, Donald, who is a better version of him (Social wise) in his eyes because things seem to come easier to him. In his eyes his brother would be able to find want he needs to fix in his writing.…

Before beginning this course, I knew that I lacked confidence within my writing. People say that you are your own worst critique, and I fully agree with that statement. My writing was not terrible in some aspects, but I knew that it needed to be improved upon. I lacked the experience needed because writing was not something that I did on a daily basis. When I first started English 1302, the little confidence that I had significantly plummeted since my writing seemed childish compared to other students.…

The title Miss Representation is the first clue as to the content of the documentary will center on: the play on words of “misrepresentation” vs “Miss Representation” gives the sense of beauty pageant, in which women (although some pageants include contestants as young as toddlers) compete to win a superficial title based primarily on looks. The premise of the documentary is to reveals the complexities of women’s role in society, and the double standards that create the gap between the reality of women’s appearances and self-esteem, and the media portrayal of women’s bodies, which are – as the title indicates – severely misrepresented. In the film, there are several examples of the disparities between what is expected of women and the reality…

Final Exam: Self Evaluation Essay I personally can say that I have seen an improvement in my writing since my initial evaluation in the middle of the semester. During my first evaluation I was very confused with many of the general concepts the class held and it reflected in my writing. Answering the questions presented in the midterm evaluation and reviewing my first writing assignment Meta commentary pushed me to try to grasp a better understanding of assignments and ask for more helpful feedback that would benefit me in developing writing especially in the concept of methods and organization. Slowly and surely as the rest of the semester progressed forward I saw an improvement in my writing style and content.…

Chapter-1 Performer’s rights: new dimension of copyright laws INTRODUCTION Performer’s rights with respect to cinematographic films have always been an area of dispute, this is because the producer is considered as the owner of such work and he can exploit the work for his economic advantage. A cinematographic film consists of a different rights associated to it and producer is considered as the holder of the bundle of rights only because he takes the initiative, like in a company’s case a promoter. There is no copy right protectable act from the part of producer, like no expression of ideas but he holds together different copy right protectable rights of different…
